Do you know what amazes me. That this unknown woman just hung up on Amelie. I’m surprised that she didn’t have Amelie gift wrapped and brought to her as a present. Well,it still amazing that Amelie gets into these sort of situations unscathed.
Oh, Octavia Bloom makes an appearance again. She’s actually not some unknown woman, but appeared already in the chapters 2.13 and 2.16 among the other mob bosses who attended and were arrested at the Iron Tiger tournament. She also is an important character in the specials “The Hungover Harpist” and “Boss Of Beistad” (which Amelie is referring to in this conversation here) and even got one spin-off-comic told entirely from her point of view with “Bad Luck Blooms”. It’s not required to know her entire backstory and all about the incident that Amelie mentions here to fully enjoy this storyline here. In short: just before Amelie met Megan she unsuccessfully tried to overthrow Octavia and was nearly killed by her for that. Later she saved Megan and the transporter Kenzi who works for Octavia from some Paxian mobsters who were after a suitcase full of money that belonged to Octavia and which Megan had to hide at her pub. So Amelie thinks Octavia owes her something for that, not realizing that Octavia already showed enough gratefulness with deciding to spare her life. I think that Octavia also doesn’t like at all being reminded of Amelie’s attempt to run her own business, so she’s obviously pissed.
Octavia also seems to like putting subordinates who failed her in bondage.
Anyways, this is an awesome page! Bondage, hilarious dialogue and funny expressions all along! Great! 😀
