And if someone here wonders why Julia’s not been affected by the candles, whereas Ashley and Cale are: I think Julia hold her breath once she realized what Lilja was doing, pretended to be unconscious and let her talk just to see if Lilja would actually be so stubborn and audacious to try the same thing again on her. And when Lilja again said this quote from “Charlie & the chocolate factory” she lost her cool and became enraged.
The other possibility is that the candles at first actually worked on Julia, but when Lilja said that quote that maybe unleashed an even more painful chain of memories and she snapped out of her trance. Maybe her rage makes her temporarily unaffected by the scent of the candles.
Either way, Lilja is f***ed!
Well, I’m taking that as a yes she does remember.
But judging by Cale and Ashley’s reactions it is the correct candles that are out.
