It’s actually not that difficult to figure out what just happened here. Lan-Lan asked one of her fellow hackers if the place where she had planned to meet Julia was safe and Maya a.k.a. Ph1sh3r4Truth gave her the confirmation. But judging from her last post Maya got discovered and overpowered by Erin. She tried to warn Lan-Lan that it’s a trap, but it was too late.
Apparently Maya is a conspiracy theorist who believes in reptilian aliens who infiltrated Beistad’s society, are secretly controlling it and are poisoning the water. The funny – and also quite disturbing – thing is that people like these actually exist in our world! Many believe even crazier stories: for example, that the earth is flat or hollow. Extremely weird stuff. One can laugh at these people, but when you see how totally serious they are and how many of them exist it gets quite depressing and worrying. Because many of them are also associated to religious and/or political extremists. And more than one amok-runner believed in such theories.
I discovered these people over ten years ago when I, out of boredom, tried to convince people who believed the “Harry Potter”-books and movies were “occult” propaganda how wrong this assumption is. I regret now diving in this rabbit hole. You can’t convince these nutcases that their beliefs are false. The best thing you can do is ignore them.
That post got way more serious now than I intended it to be, so I end it with a funny note: of course Lilja’s a reptilian! Her family controls the city and she loves reptiles and putting other people under control! It’s confirmed! ^^
