Viceroys (vice, as in second to, roy, as in royal) hold the powers and authorities of a monarch in a governed territory, since they govern on their behalf. As a vicereine (the feminine form of viceroy) in an absolute monarchy, one can only assume that Amaretto holds all authority that entails, be it executive, judicial or legislative.

I thought that in Beistad,there’d be a bunch of judges who handle stuff like this,something like in places like Britain,America,and Australia. I didn’t really think that this would be something Amaretto would do. I know she’s the vicereine of Beistad. You’d have thought that she’d have something like a judge do this trial,unless it’s something big and important.
I guess to me,this sort of thing would be handled by someone else,not by the top person in the land. You’d have thought she’d have other things to do,other than this.

To be fair, Dominica Diaz is accused of being a big mob boss. That’s a pretty heavy allegation.
