Well,we shouldn’t forget that there was that one time in which Franky basically abandoned Amelie to the Estrella. It’s hard not to think that she’s been waiting for some payback and is probably using Julia to get it. Amelie may not be as sweet and innocent as Julia described her but she does have some smarts in her cracked mind. We shouldn’t forget that and I hope Julia figures that out.

Watching everyone banter, wondering “am I the only one who has noticed Amelie has slipped her cuffs?” I’m more worried that even Julia hasn’t noticed too yet.
While to some Amelie’s move here seems unfair, I think she has every reason to act like that. She’s probably still mad at Frankie for leaving her to the Estrella and later for knocking her out when the Iron Tiger was raided by the BOSU (though the latter one was for her own good, but she still doesn’t seem to appreciate it). While she can be a pain in the ass to people, she doesn’t deserve to be sent to prison or, which would be more likely given her age, a correction center for juveniles.
And I think Julia thinks so, too. I’d say she isn’t naive here, but rather that she, despite everything that happened between them, likes Amelie and wants to help her get free. My assumption is, judging from her expressions and the way she’s leading the topic of the conversation to Francois, that she didn’t accidentally but intentionally gave Amelie an excuse to get away scot-free.
Ad yes, I noticed that Amelie just slipped out of her cuffs, too. Apparently there are only a few things that could hold her temporarily. But Julia doesn’t seem to mind. After all, Amelie’s now in a mood where she acts reasonable… for her, at least.
