Looks like Juila has lost her memory what every that candle was made of did a really good job but it’s a matter of time before she start to remember that Lilja had a lot of fun with her.
I’m also amazed that Julia was let go. You’d have thought that Lilja would have wanted more time with her latest “toy” but she had to let her go. But still,it wouldn’t surprise me if she tried to get Julia again. Lilja’d better hope that whatever was in those candles keeps Julia from remembering what happened to her. She’ll probably remember Zilla,her goon squad,and Lan-Lan,but that’ll probably be it,or so Lilja hopes.
So many questions from this one page. I’m sure most of them will be answered in following pages but might as well list them off anyway.
– While Lilja releasing Julia is understandable the dialogue implies that her comrades found her back where she went to ‘rescue’ Lan-Lan. Did Lilja have her sent there? Why?
– Does Julia not remember anything that happened since that attempted rescue? Presumably including finding out about the whole Mob War thing and whatever Lilja did to her before?
– Relating to the above, what DID Lilja do to her anyway? Actually drain the information out of her? Brainwash her (squick…)? Is this page’s events just a hallucination?
And we’re seeing Julia again. That’s a relief. But it leaves many unanswered questions, which Covert already listed.
But I have to say that it didn’t came to me as a surprise that Lilja did release Julia. Kidnapping a cop is a very serious crime and I think it wouldn’t even be for Lilja worth the risk getting caught imprisoning her. Because sooner or later that would be discovered, as her colleagues were already looking for her. And also she needs Julia as a pawn in her plan, so it would be really stupid to keep her longer. She even mentioned that in the last chapter.
I also don’t think that Lilja used brainwashing on Julia. She doesn’t seem to be skilled enough to do that. I think she used some memory-altering drugs on her instead.
