Well things just took a turn down the dark alley. I didn’t know our little heiress was a proficient with needles and drugs. I knew she had some experience considering the candles, but wow. I’m gonna assume she knows how to use that, and I hope julia can trust people after this rollercoaster of backstabbing and evil half’s.
Wow this has turned sour very quick what will Juila say now? In fact who does Juila trust now after all she been going around in circles so it will be interesting what she will say to Lilja.
Is THIS how you show gratitude,Lilja? By tying up and now trying to give what can be assumed to be truth serum to the person who saved you from kidnappers? My dear, you’ve definitely got some screws loose up in that head of yours.
I’m a bit flabberghasted that people seem surprised that Lilja is evil, as it is already established. If nothing else, this should prove it.
And yeah, don’t confuse realism with the context within a comic.
Oh boy, that escalated quickly. ^^” I kinda have the feeling that there is something missing between this page and the previous one, but that’s just my impression. I had assumed that Julia was entranced by the candles and the gunshots broke it only temporarily. Maybe the effect wore off or Julia is much more strongwilled than anticipated. 🙂
Nevertheless Lilja is really raising the stakes here. Was this her plan from the beginning and the candles and stuff merely a prelude for her own amusement? Or it is really as mentioned above and Julia just can’t be handled that easily.
I do wonder what exactly the content of the syringe is, and where she did get it. I probably have a theory about the supplier, buuuuut that’s because I am biased in that regard. 😛 This just adds another possible rescue scenario in my mind. Yup, I am definitely going crazy here soon.
Speaking of which, I think it’s time for a rescue! Or at least a distraction of sorts. 😀 I doubt Caroline kicked the bucket, it’s more like she skillfully disarmed Nina with those gunshots, at least that’s what I assume since it’s been kind of hinted that she has some skill has duelist.
And that scene or, more precisely, the last panel, is the turning point where it got controversial. The way Lilja is holding that syringe (with probably some kind of truth-serum into it) in front of Julia and especially the extremely frightened look on Julia’s face make this scene feel uncomfortable instead of lighthearted like most bondage scenes before this. Yes, it was already established before that Lilja is evil, and more than once hinted that she’d like to “play” with Julia, but that she’d act so malicious here (or more, that it comes off as extremely backstabby and insidious to a trustful likable character the way it is pictured here) still surprised many readers. As said before, I think with this page you gave us a bit more than we wished for. To me it doesn’t cross a line, so I’m still ok with it, but I also have to say that it’s not very far from it.
My god i prefer Lijla when she was tied up and gagged

Oh wow, this went from “sexy as hell” to “questionable as hell” in a single frame…

… Lilja, please stop being scary!
