The Black Canary

This featuring flood of comic scenes comes from my absolute favorite comic book character ever! Dinah Lance, more commonly known to fans as The Black Canary! Everyone knows Dinah can kick as much ass as Batman himself... but she also landed in a lot of trouble over her career! And thanks to that lovely Canary Cry the Villains had to be handy at silencing her on a regular basis! So every body scan through and enjoy a flurry of DiD scenes in this BLACK CANARY FLOOD!

Joker #4 NEW
In his short lived solo comic series the Joker has come to Star City and for no discernatble reason decides to kidnap local florist Dinah Lance. Why? I have no idea. He just thinks she's super hot apparently. Well sadly for Joker he has no idea he actually just kidnapped the Black Canary and Green Arrows current girlfriend. Luckily he does take the precaution (after a while) to gag the hapless Dinah as he prepares for his big finale atop the Star City bridge!

JLA Incarnations #03 NEW
In this short mini series we see different incarnations of the JLA (get it?) and in this issue Kobra has hatched a plan to take out the JLA watchtower. They attack it with cloaked ships and disable the transporters. So the only hero aboard on monitor duty is Dinah herself. The fighting bird does her best to fend of the hoards but soon is over come by their leaders concussive blast. They chain poor Canary up and send a video to the JLA including demands for Dinah's saftey.

Green Arrow/ Green Lantern #94-95 NEW
Dinah gets kidnapped by a bunch of EVIL BIG BIZ'NESS dudes in order to make Green Arrow do what they say. So they rig BC up in a big ol' grinding gear death trap. After some futile attempts to get her free (the business guys oddly just... letting him try) he shrugs it off and figures the only way to save Dinah is to do wha they say. This of course was written by a writer who dispite claiming being a male feminist, wrote Dinah like a clueless baggage of after thought that slowed GA and GL down at every turn. God I hate Denny O'Niel...

These 2 scenes come from the Black Canary DC archives. I forget the actual issues they come from so we'll just leave it at that for now. Technically this is Dinah's mother but it's still Black Canary so it counts! The first is from Johnny Thunder issue and the other is the cover for Tune of Terror. A classic cover of Distress if ever there was one!

Back to Dinah's dear mother back when she was a member of the JSA. BC finds herself alone in the JSA compound when she is confronted by the Harlequin! Before she can explain both girls are frozen and whisked away by Icicle only to be strapped to a device that will make them slaves of the Injustice Society!

Adventure Comics #418 - 419
In this adventure Dinah is hired to teach Judo to the "Women's Resistance League" but when she discovers they intend to use it to free a convicted criminal she takes action! Only to be KO'd by Bertha and her gang! She gets tied up and tossed in the back of their van to be disposed of later! The scene is capped off with a lovely one shot of BC tied and gagged on the back cover of a compilation book that includes the story. A real nice shot!

This scene doesn't have too many great visuals, but I thought it was worthy of going up here for the reason that this is the ONLY DiD scene that I have ever witnessed of Dinah in that horrific outfit. For some reason... when she's bound hand and foot... it doesn't look as bad. Maybe they should have given it a chance................................. Neeh!

Dinah gets KO'd by a booby trapped robot only to be carted off to the lab of the grotesque and quite insane Professor. Ivo. Though the creator of AMAZO seems to be polite towards our pretty bird he doesn't skip on security and even apologizes for having to gag her to prevent her Canary Cry.! Now that's class!

Worlds Finest #248 - 249
In this two part adventure Black Canary comes across the new villain Hellgrammite. And quite frankly this guy just has Dinah's number. Yup no matter how much Karate and Judo she uses she just can't seem to stay out of this buggy villains sticky cocoons! Held as a hostage for her emerald lover Green Arrow Dinah has to use her wits to get out of this one! One of my favorite scens of all time.

Worlds Finest #253 - 254
Dinah gets abducted in her bathrode and fishnets (whooo!) by the alien race known as the Glorn. They intend to make the lovely heroine their Queen. When GA comes to the rescue by shooting her gag off the two set off to put an end to Glorn's evil plans only to be wrapped up in some kind of alien webbing. Even though Dinah can't use her Cry she's the one that ends up saving both of them from a doomed fate! Always the resourceful one!

In a continuity crushing capture Dinah finds herself rendered unconcious, tied up and gagged by Auntie Gravity and her three Nephews. But what's this? That cloth that usually keeps BC's famous Canary Cry at bay is completely shredded by the "blonde" heroines destructive meta-power. This leaves the Canary to thoroughly thrash her captors with both hands tied!

Brave and the Bold #166
In this jaw-dropping issue of Brave and Bold Batman teams up with Dinah to take down the Penguin! But its Penguin's henchmen that take the pretty bird down! Swapping her out with a look-a-like to kill Batman Canary is taken back to the hideout in her skivvies and tied and gagged to a chair! Seriously I'd say more about this but... its Black Canary bound and gagged in her undies... what more need be said!

Worlds Finest #282 - 283
This here is a big favorite. Dinah gets kidnapped by Slingshot after he was hired by some old cow who wanted to get revenge on Green Arrow for killing her son. Regardless of the silly plot it gave us some of the best classic style DiD visuals and lots and lots of gag talk across 2 issues! That is until GA is able to pull off that familiar trick of shooting her gag off!

Modern Age Black Canary!
Thats right this section is showcasing the more modern look of BC. From her first Birds of Prey (oddly green but still awesome) outfit to her brand new and current look. This includes one of my all time favorite showcase of capture instruments. That's right... The Body Doubles scene! Never was there a nicer surprise than opening up this quick 3 issue mini and seeing Dinah trussed up wih high tech bondage. Everyone should enjoy that.

Plant Trouble!
This set is to display the frequency of Black Canary's problems with plants. She seems to get strung up by living vines quite a bit regardless of which incarnation it takes place in. Be it her Silver Age JLA or a halucination or even current DC continuity of Birds of Prey.

Total Randomness
This set is composed of a bunch of single shot or just plain short scenes consisting of handgags, chloroforms, and a few nice visual tie ups. Including a very nice shot of her chair tied in a sweet black dress. For some reason she didn't just use her cry to rip them a new one. Not like they tied a cloth around her mouth or anything...
