Red Head Reporters

Peggy Brandt - The Mask
Not to be confused with Betty Brandt from Spiderman Peggy was the plucky reporter from that horrific cartoon based on the Jim Carry movie "The Mask." Peggy as many plucky reporters before her gets into DiD scraps a few time and one scene imparticular makes her worth mentioning!
In a disgusting plot to rule the world, Dr. Pretorious decides to harvest mucus. I know gross right? Well the good part is Peggy is captured to lure Mask into a trap before Pretorious realizes she has a cold. So he straps her to a table.. harvests his... element and sends Peggy back to her death trap! Lot's of restraint!
One of the finest small scenes out there... this is why she's on the list. I can't say I ever enjoyed this mindscrew of a bad show but this.. this right here is top notch DiD. Captured by a crazed action "hero" Peggy is bound gagged and stashed in a closet. The struggles that ensue are priceless. Enjoy!
Tony Dubois - Reporter Blues
Antoinette Dubois or "Tony" to her friends is a top reporter in Paris. With her berret wearing cat Fillipo by her side Tony breaks cases that even the police inspector seems to let slip by. But her reputation as a snoop seems to land her in some trouble! And we get to enjoy that!
Tony is spending the night in a supposed haunted house! Well it may not be haunted but something is certainly up! startled my someone trying to enter her room Tony stumbled into a chair that shackles her wrists! The next morning she awoke with nothing wrong, leaving only questions as to if it was ever real.
Snooping around the crooks hideout Tony finds a bunch of guard dogs not looking happy to see her. Evading them... she finds herself in the hands of the crooks! Tying her up and locking her in the basement they thinks she's taken care of... but they didn't count on her enginuity. And some broken glass!
There's a thief in the Louvre! The cops are stumped but Tony has discovered the crooks escape route in a tunnel under the building! Unfortunately he's still there! After failing to bump her off he gags and knocks her out placing her in the cart with the stolen pantings. Luckily Filipo (her cat) is there to save the day!
Tony's been targeted! That's right the snoopy reporter has earned the ire of Madam Lapen and she wants her out of the way! Captured off the streets with some chloroform she is taken to a clinic and mummified to a hospital bed to be disposed of later . Her weak struggles really make this scene worth it!
Jessica Wray - Ghostbusters (Filmation)
The filmation Ghostbusters was certainly not even close to "The Real Ghostbusters" so much so that they titled the latter show to shocase that. But it did have one thing! A cutie red headed reporter named Jessica Wray that found herself in the throes of danger! Let's enjoy those throes shall we?
Special thanks to Gambit for these vids!
Prime Evil awakens an ancient Egyptian God King to do harm back in his own time! His first act is to take a Queen to solidify his throne. That Queen happens to be our lovely reporter friend Jessica Wray who is promptly whisked away to the past and setup and dressed for the big cerimony.
Jessica and Futura (Ghostbuster from the future) are on the hunt for the Ghost of Captain Ahab who was kidnapped. Luckily for us our two heroines also get kidnapped! They are tied back to back but the lack of visible rope and a coupld gags keeps this from being the best scene. BUT its still pretty darn good!
Jake and Jess decide for a night on the town. A first real date with no ghostbusting or craziness! But Eddie and Tracy happen to fall into a trap and Jake and Jess have to step up! Unfortunately they get caught in the trap too! Bound and gagged with the boys this one shot makes for Jess' only gag scene. WOOT!
A ghost is taking over New York and Jessica snoops around his HQ to figure out his plans. But as she's alerting the GB she gets snagged and silenced by some ghost thugs. What follows is some heavy rope and lots of struggling. I can't help thinking she was suppose to be gagged here given her thinking aloud! :P
Kelly Kincaid - Nighthood
Kelly's escapades on Nighthood have barely been documented on the DiD scene and I'm happy to be the one to bring her scenes to the light! Our poor Kelly is in enough high quality distress to put her close on the heels of April herself! Also she's technically Lupin III's Grandmother. Thats pretty funny!
That's right! Our daring Kelly Kincaid techically gets bound and gagged in every episode of Night Hood! Right at the begining the main baddy's right hand man binds and gags her and whisks her away to an unknown location just so Arsene Lupin can make a heroic save and flashy entrance for the theme! Awesome...
In order to get a professor to confess a secret Steel kidnaps Kelly (whose an old friend of the professor's) to get him to spill the beans by threatening her life. The threat of course works but the scumbags have no intentions of letting them go! Sending Kelly on a one way train ride she's not looking forward too!
Kelly and Max are captured by Steel while they are developing incriminating photos! So what does Steel do with them? Tosses them in his trunk! We get to see Lupin pull an Indy and leave the damsel in distress to lure the villains plans out in the open! Which do so... on a blimp!
Again Kelly is trussed up by Steel in order to get her old friend to spill the beans on the Arkinite Crystal! Lupin is there to make the save but Steel slimes away with her in tow! Later Kelly and her friend are at the mercy of the villains and their new Crystal powered lazer beam! Classic.
The bad guys decide to kidnap young Max in order to get Lupin to steal a train gold shipment. So they raid poor Kelly's hotel room to take the boy... but no without leaving our once daring and now cowaring reporter bound and gagged in her pajamas! She manages to 'mmph' Lupin on the phone for the save!
And now the top seed in the Kelly Kincaid run! Kelly is caught snooping (so like a reporter) in the sewers where the badguy's lair is! Well they decide to bump out pretty red head off with a little classic conveyer belt of doom! This one taking her up and into a grinder! Lupin swoops in for a last second rescue!
April O'Niel - TMNT
And so it brings us to the unevitable and greatest Red Headed Reporter and one of the top Queens of DiD, April Oniel! Enjoy all her best scenes including for the first time high quality copies of her rare perils! She's the best at getting in trouble and that earns her spot here at the top of this Special Feature!
Ah the first adventure! The first capture! And the first DiD our favorite reporter ever stumbles into. Overhearing the Foot's evil plot some Foot Soldiers grab her before she can alert her news crew! Later she's tied to a chair on a roof top serving as a trap for the first TMNT rescue! Huzzah! And here's to many more!
A parody title of one of the worst movies ever... and this may be the worst episode ever. The plot is beyond stupid, the flow is terrible and the animation is as rubbery as a tire dump. But this ep does have one thing going for it. April O'niel bound, gagged and stuffed in a locker! Ah... you even shine in crap, April. Bravo!
An equally rubbery episode but not even half as awful. April gets confused as a Princess who is her almost exact double! Shredder kidnaps her and using her likeness as the real Princess decides to use her as the ransom anyway! Which works! Till the TMNT swoop in to save the day of course!
The Channel 6 News building has been invaded by Shredder Beebop and Rocksteady. So what happens? April gets tied up of course! And Rocksteady seems to love that aspect just as much as all of us! Sing a long with him as April struggles to get free with Irma being little help at first.
The final episode of the original 90's TMNT. That's right. The final episode and April gets into the same trouble she always does! I honestly think the writers decided this had to be done. They take Dregg away from his normal setting and put him in one where he can tie April to a chair. Its like it was writen as law!
On to an absolute classic scene. One that has been burned in my mind since childhood. April gets snagged right out of her anchor woman chair and tossed bound and gagged over the Rat King's shoulder. She struggles all cute on the sewer floor before being cut loose. The moaning here is heavenly.
April is killing to get a story. The Neutra Freeze Plant seems to be getting robbed a lot. So our snoopy reporter decides to ask a few employees. Too bad the first one she sees is Bebop in disguise! She's soon bound gagged and stashed in the back of the van mummbling "What are you doing to me!?" Classic.
And wrapping up this April goodness is the best of her scenes! Lured into a trap by the devious Shredder, April is shackled to a chair and gagged tight! She is to be bait in a trap. He lets her mummble into the communicator and the turtles come headstrong to the rescue. One of the core DiD scenes from my childhood.
